Total titles in twenty twelve

Yesterday we asked how many World titles this year's World Champions have in total. No correct answers from our Twitter followers unfortunately, so here's the answer!

Boys - 29
Girls - 37
Total - 66!!!

That's right, between them this year's World Champions hold 66 world solo titles between them. Some were first time champions, like Michael Holland, Olivia Griffin, and of course both u11 champions. Some were multiple champions - Suzanne Coyle, John Lonergan, Niamh Taylor and Sean Downes each won their fifth title in Belfast. Here's the full list:

Michael Holland, Olivia Griffin, Melissa McCarthy, Melanie Valdes, Ruairi McCabe and Emma Casey - all hold 1 title each.

Cathal Keaney, Peter Dziak, John Whitehurst, Ronan Kelly, Brogan McCay and Keeva Corry - all hold 2 titles each.

David Geaney, Caolan McKeating-Lynch, Jack Quinn and Shannon Bradley - all hold 3 titles each.

Therese Corless, Sinead Carson, Michaela Hinds and Cyra Taylor - all hold 4 titles each.

Suzanne Coyle, John Lonergan, Niamh Taylor and Sean Downes - all have won 5 titles each.

So that's the titles held by current world champions - but plenty of former world champions competed in Belfast too. Any idea how many titles they hold between them? Answers @irishdancefacts!
